This issue reunites eight contributions by researchers from related disciplines: discourse analysis, interaction analysis, conversational analysis, contrastive text analysis (discourse analysis), ethnography of communication, sociology of organizations. The comparisons bear on ten different communities. The sets of data analyzed come for everyday interactions, exchanges in online discussion forums, newspaper articles as well as texts from philosophers and political thinkers. It is aimed at both researchers and students of the humanities and social sciences as well as to anyone curious of other cultures.
